Julia Keikilani Edwards is a writer and candidate for MFA in Creative Writing at Hunter College.
In her undergraduate studies at New York University, Edwards earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and American Literature with an emphasis in Creative Writing and a minor in Classical Civilizations. In 2022, she published a cultural criticism essay entitled “Taylor Swift Has Been Sentenced to Fat!” in the Green Street Review. At the 2023 Society for Ancient Studies Interdisciplinary Conference, she presented her research paper “On Frank Ocean’s ‘Pyramids:’ The Pimping of Cleopatra VII.”
More of Edwards’s work can be found on the many JetBlue napkins that litter her purse. She is currently working on her thesis, a memoir about making sense of her father’s tough life lessons and their relationship after his death.
Originally from sunny Southern California, she can now be found in NYC, complaining about having to carry an umbrella in her napkin-stuffed bag “just in case.”
